The Driverless Car is a Reality!
Most might know by now that Sebastian Thrun and Google have created a legalized (in Nevada only) driverless car, but if you are like me you may not have had a look at it. Amazingly enough this video has only gotten 135,000 views on YouTube (compared to Rebecca Black's "Friday" that topped 5 million in a week). I really feel this innovation is a game changer, and ever since the monumentous legislation that was passed last Sunday (June 25th) I have had this impulse the world is different knowing that it is possible. Concept is cool. But the true test would be how a large group of self driving cars operate, especially when coming into contact with each other. Like if you see two cars, which one will have the right of way? How would they know the difference. How would one sort out the parking or are human granted control again. Concept is very cool though indeed.
